Cate Le Bon will release her seventh studio album, “Michelangelo Dying“, on September 26, 2025, available via Bandcamp in digital, CD, black vinyl, and limited Galaxy Pink vinyl with a signed print. The first single, “Heaven Is No Feeling“, is out now and streaming for pre-orders.
Michelangelo Dying Album
The album marks Le Bon’s most emotionally exposed work to date. Written in the aftermath of a long-term breakup, the record explores the contradictions of grief, healing, and the disorienting fallout of love. “It’s about putting things down so you can unencumber yourself and move on,” she told The Guardian in June.

Musically, “Michelangelo Dying” builds on the textured post-punk sound Le Bon has refined over her last two albums, Reward (2019) and Pompeii (2022).

It was self-produced and features sonic contributions from John Cale, who appears on the track “Ride”. Filtered guitars, processed saxophones, and disintegrating percussion swirl into a dense, fluid soundscape—one Le Bon likens to “photographing a wound but picking at it at the same time”.
