Media Puzzle have released “How Do Ya Feel?”, a sub-two-minute burst of egg punk pulled from their latest EP Intermission, out now via Impressed Recordings.

Written, recorded, and mixed by frontman Tom Peter, “How Do Ya Feel?” charges through a chaotic sequence of shouts, programmed drums, and bass-heavy riffs. The track opens with a repeated chant of its title, before spiraling into a distorted narrative of reckless joyrides and existential blur. Peter sings, channeling a drunken high-speed daze that blurs adrenaline with alienation.

Clocking in at just 1 minute and 56 seconds, the song delivers a high-speed vignette of Australian youth disillusionment, echoed by warped choruses and vocal calls to “suck it up!” over relentless rhythm patterns. It’s fast, disorienting, and knowingly absurd—true to the spirit of egg punk’s weirder corners.

“How Do Ya Feel?” is part of Intermission, a five-track EP released June 20 that sees Media Puzzle move toward a more streamlined sound. The band, known for their scuzzy and unpredictable post-punk on albums like Strategic Living and A Brief History of Planets, Space and Shit, experiments here with programmed percussion, stripped-back guitar textures, and a stronger focus on rhythmic interplay.
The EP was mastered by Alako Myles and showcases a band sharpening its edge rather than expanding outward. On “How Do Ya Feel?”, restraint and urgency clash in a track that never overstays its welcome.
