The track, released Sept. 10, pairs French songwriter Melody Prochet with Leon Michels — the producer and bandleader behind El Michels Affair — whose credits span Clairo, Kali Uchis and Norah Jones. Grammy-winning mixer Jens Jungkurth handled final touches.

“Daisy started as a daydream while listening to Leon’s finest music,” Prochet said in a statement. “I reached out to him, and we instantly created this sweet overlapping zone — like an invisible playground between our worlds. It’s a privilege to have made this one together.”

Michels, a Grammy winner himself, has built a reputation across hip-hop and soul circles, working with The Carters, Lizzo and Wu-Tang Clan. He also co-founded Big Crown Records, home to artists including Lee Fields, Lady Wray and Liam Bailey. His latest album, 24 Hr Sports, was released earlier this year.

For Prochet, “Daisy” arrives after a decade marked by both turbulence and acclaim. Since her self-titled debut in 2012, she has released three more albums: Bon Voyage (2018), Emotional Eternal (2022) and Unfold, a 2022 collection of unreleased material. She has also embarked on a comeback tour and most recently collaborated with American psych-rock band Crumb on their single “Le Temple Volant”.

The new track finds her reuniting with the dreamlike textures that made her early work a cult favorite, while extending her reach through Michels’ deep grooves and fretwork flourishes.
