Rozi Plain’s New Album “Prize”

Rozi Plain, English singer-songwriter and bassist of This Is the Kit group, has dropped her fifth studio album, “Prize,” on January 13, 2023. It’s a fusion of softly twisted folk and wandering jazz. The essence of mindfulness. Expect minimal guitar, gentle vocals, and an subtle rhythm sections. Plain cleverly combines these elements succinctly. Shows what 15 years of music can bring you – a well developed and instantly recognisable sound.

Plain, with her knack for bass, brings in a crew of collaborators—drummer Jamie Whitby-Coles, bassist Amaury Ranger, guitarist James Howard, and pianist Gerard Black.. Her songs are fluid, effortlessly blending ambiance, fade-ins and Rozi Plain’s vocals. There is guest appearances from saxophonists Alabaster dePlume and Cole Pulice, alongside synths expert Danalogue from The Comet Is Coming.

The album wraps up with “Blink,” inviting us to linger a bit more in the present, extending that moment of magic.
