Snõõper Unleashes Debut Album “Super Snõõper”
Snõõper, the sound of egg punk from Tennessee’s DIY scene, have just released their debut album, “Super Snõõper“. Before being signed to Third Man Records by Jack White himself, Snõõper carved their niche as fast-riffing fun-loving misfits. With an insatiable speed and distortion, alongside bold visual aesthetics, the Nashville five-piece delivers Nu-Devo-like energy.
Their debut album “Super Snõõper” showcases the band’s full creativity. The album opens with “Stretching,” seamlessly splicing together song snippets like a radio scan. Snõõper could be called sprinter. They fly through 13 tracks in just over 20 minutes. Squealing guitars, sci-fi sounds,a multitude of effects, and more.
Snõõper’s performances are known for their puppets and props, adding a visual spectacle to their punkish charm. Lead singer Blair Tramel finds comfort and empowerment in these constructions, transforming from an imposter-syndrome vocalist into a commanding front person on stage. The band’s DIY creativity, reflected in their props and visual elements, complements the earlier spirit of the egg punk scene.
From crackling lo-fi vocal filtering to Snõõper’s dynamic playstyle extending to their instrumentation, chugging guitars on “Unable” and mad basslines on “Defect” add to the album’s infectious energy.
“Super Snõõper” brings the band’s lively and whimsical performance to life on record. The album’s 8-track recording adds a gritty texture to the songs, making them even more intense.
Throughout “Super Snõõper,” the band’s rapid-fire musical shifts and unpredictable changes create a whirlwind. The album’s 14 tracks, infused with punk throughout, transport listeners into a world of relentless playfulness.
Tracks like “Fitness” deliver. In the whirlwind of Snõõper’s debut album “Super Snõõper,” the band’s keeps meticulous control. With its breathless speed, contagious energy, and catchy hooks, Snõõper’s debut album leaves us waiting for live show announcements across Europe.
