Unearthed after decades, Margo Guryan’s 1957 demo “More Understanding Than A Man” offers a unique glimpse into the early feminist perspective in music.

In a remarkable discovery, a previously unreleased track by the late Margo Guryan, titled “More Understanding Than A Man” has been unveiled to the public. Recorded back in 1957, this song is not only one of Guryan’s earliest demos but also a pioneering work in the realm of feminist music.

Notable collaboration from two absolute talents. Lomboy and The Holydrug Couple release their new song “Bruce Lee”. Released on the 12th of January 2024 the track effortlessly combines the distinctive styles of Lomboy and The Holydrug Couple.

Folly Group - Down There!

On January 12, 2024, Folly Group unveiled their debut album “Down There!,” a record that demonstrates the band’s commitment to experimentation and collaboration. Released by So Young Records, this album marks a significant milestone in the band’s musical journey, showcasing their ability to blend genres and create something truly unique.

Four Tet - Loved

On January 10, 2024, Kieran Hebden, better known by his stage name Four Tet, released his new single “Loved.” This release comes as the first track of his upcoming album, eagerly awaited by fans and critics alike. Hebden himself has been actively involved in the creative process, handling both the writing and production of the track.

Following his prolific output in 2020, which included albums like “Parallel,” “871,” and “Sixteen Oceans,” Hebden has continued to make waves in the electronic music scene. Notably, he’s been part of an impromptu dance supergroup with fellow artists Skrillex and Fred Again.., culminating in a headline performance at Coachella, stepping in for Frank Ocean.

Xmal Deutschland - Allein

Iconic all-female band Xmal Deutschland’s early work, “Early Singles (1981-1982),” gets a reissue alongside frontwoman Anja Huwe’s solo debut.

German goth rock pioneers Xmal Deutschland are set to reissue their impactful “Early Singles (1981-1982)” collection. This release coincides with the debut solo album “Codes” from the band’s frontwoman, Anja Huwe, both scheduled for March 8 via Sacred Bones. 

Deerhoof - Almuatin

Released on January 17th The new track Almuatin by Deerhoof packs staggering energy and noise. Punk energy ending comfortably and confidently placed somewhere between Preoccupations, Just Mustard and Gilla Band.

Jahari Massamba Unit - Massamba Afundance

Madlib and Karriem Riggins, under their collaborative project Jahari Massamba Unit, release “Massamba Afundance,” a vibrant single from their upcoming album “YHWH is LOVE.”

Madlib and Karriem Riggins, known collectively as Jahari Massamba Unit, have unveiled their latest single, “Massamba Afundance,” from their forthcoming album “YHWH is LOVE.” This track follows their debut album “Pardon My French,” released in 2020, and continues to showcase their unique blend of influences and musical innovation.

Corker - Distant Dawn

Emerging from Cincinnati’s post-punk scene, Corker introduces “Distant Dawn,” a vibrant single signaling a new direction from their debut album.

Corker, a post-punk band hailing from Cincinnati, has just released “Distant Dawn,” a single that marks a distinct shift in their musical journey. This release, following their dense and dark 2023 debut album on Feel It Records, showcases a brighter and more dynamic side of the band, hinting at the exciting developments in their forthcoming 2024 album.

The Alchemist feat Conway and Westside Gunn - "94' Ghost Shit"

This track came to us late in 2023. The Alchemist, Conway the Machine, and Westside Gunn revive the essence of 2016’s underground hip-hop with their collaborative track “94 Ghost Shit” from the vaulted project “Hall & Nash 2.”

Released in December 2023, “94 Ghost Shit” is a standout single from the previously shelved project “Hall & Nash 2,” a collaboration between The Alchemist, Conway the Machine, and Westside Gunn. This release follows the success of their initial collaboration soon after the original “Hall & Nash.”

La Femme - Telegraphe

La Femme’s “Télégraphe” from “La Femme Ressort”: A Revival of Early Works

French psych-pop band La Femme revisits their roots with the reissue of their first EP “La Femme Ressort,” featuring a fresh take on their early iconic songs, including “Télégraphe.”

Released on January 19, 2024, “Télégraphe” is part of the reissue of La Femme’s first EP, “La Femme Ressort,” originally released in 2011. This reissue offers four new versions of their iconic tracks, each bringing a renewed perspective to the band’s early work. The EP is available for streaming and download, and as a limited edition vinyl, with each copy numbered from 1 to 1000, marking a special collector’s item for fans.

Uranium Club - Small Grey Man

Minneapolis-based Uranium Club makes a comeback with “Small Grey Man” an intriguing single from their latest album “Infants Under The Bulb.”

Uranium Club, sometimes known as the Minneapolis Uranium Club Band, has released a new single, “Small Grey Man,” as part of their latest album, “Infants Under The Bulb”. Known for their unique style of nervous, twitchy psychedelic punk, the band’s new music is a follow-up to their 2018 album “The Cosmo Cleaners”, “Infants Under The Bulb” is set to be released on March 1, 2024, marking their first new album in five years.
